Good news from the specialist
Well, we saw Dr. Bax this morning and got pretty good news. He said that she isn't doing anything that isn't normal reflux, and since she is gaining weight and her lungs sound good, they won't do anything other than put her back on Prilosec. She has already started to outgrow it, and here in a few months, she will most likely be free of any symptoms at all. We were very thankful to get such good news! She is up to 13 lbs and 6 oz., so she is definitely growing. We are looking forward to Santa's first visit. Can't wait to post some pictures from the big day. Merry Christmas to everyone!

First (of many) Christmas
We celebrated Christmas with my dad yesterday. We went to church, and then back to the house for the day. It was so nice to spend the day with them since we don't see them very often. We took lots of family pictures in front of the Christmas tree. This is the first picture we have had of all four of us together.

A good nights sleep!
Last night we put Lilya in the bassinet to sleep (on her back) for the first time. She slept so good, and is now taking a nap (on her back) in the pack-n-play. I am so excited, and am thinking she might be getting over the choking thing. We are still seeing the specialist on the 23rd, but hopefully it will be all gone by then!

3 Months old today! (13 weeks)
I can't believe she holds her head up so good (and she can't believe I am taking more pictures of her)! I took these this morning before we left for a big day at school.
This is my favorite picture. She is getting so big, and loving playing on her belly!

I have a million and one pictures like this, but I love when she looks so deep in thought like this.

OUCH!
I took Lilya for her 2 month shots today (even though she will be 3 months on Friday). It was terrible...but I'm not sure if it was worse for her or me. I had to hold her on my lap while the nurse gave her 3 different shots (2 in one leg and 1 in the other). It broke my heart to hear her cry, and to know that she was getting stuck in the leg. She really only cried while she was getting them. They recommend that you give them tylonol to keep their fever down, so she also got her first dose of tylonol today. She has been sleeping a lot every since, so I'm hoping she will still sleep tonight. Now, we are just looking forward to seeing the specialist on the 23rd. Hopefully, there won't be any needles involved in that visit. She doesn't have her next round of shots until Feb. 5...Maybe I should make Daddy take her for those!

Just can't resist
I couldn't resist putting these reindeer ears on her. I know she will hate is one day.
Love the smile in this one. She is smiling so much lately. I took her to get her pictures taken today, and then came home and took these. I have come to the conclusion that I can take better pictures than what I will get somewhere else.

Showing off for Daddy
When Tony came home from work today, I was changing Lilya's diaper. This is the face she made when he started talking to her.Lulu, our dog, is still a little jealous of the baby. I'm not sure what Lilya is looking at, but look how sad Lulu looks.
Daddy would talk to Lilya, and she was talking back. I love her face in this picture...she is trying so hard to talk to him.
She is getting so strong. She tries to sit up when we lay her back, and today when Tony put her down for tummy time, she pushed herself up and held her head up longer than she has before. It doesn't take long though before she gets tiered of it and wants to be held again.

Going to see a specialist
Well, at Lilya's 2 month check up, her doctor switched her formula again. I think I might have mentioned it before. We are trying Enfamil A.R. which has rice in it. We were hoping that this would help her keep it down a little better, and it did at first. She has always had trouble with spitting up, but it isn't that she does it so much that she isn't gaining weight...she weighed 12lbs 7 oz. today (so she gained a pound in 2 weeks). The doctor is more worried about the fact that she gets so choked up when she spits up. I still cannot lay her on her back to sleep at night, and this makes for long nights. Over the weekend, she seemed to be spitting up worse, and choking some even when she was sitting up, so I called the doctor this morning. The poor thing is a little congested, so this doesn't help with the reflux, but the doctor has also decided that it is time for her to see a specialist. We are going to see Dr. Bax at St. Vincent Children's Hospital on Dec. 23 at 9:30. I hope and pray that this is just something small that can be taken care of easily!

NOTHING BETTER THAN A SMILE
Just over the past week, Lilya has really started to smile and coo at us. I can't even begin to describe the feeling I get when she smiles and makes noises like she is trying to talk to me. She was really talking it up to Tony last night, and we were both just gleaming. I told him that we should be using the camcorder so that when she is 16, she can say, "You got excited over that!" She is just so cute, and even more so when she is smiling.

Where does the time go?
I was sitting here holding Lilya and thinking about how quickly the time goes by. This time last year was one of the saddest times in my life. It was our first round of fertility after the loss of the twins, and I knew that it hadn't worked. I cried most of that Thanksgiving morning, and felt sorry for myself all day. The day got worse when we got the phone call that my Aunt Sharon had passed away unexpectedly. I felt like I had nothing to be thankful for, but looking back now, I am grateful for all that I did have at the time. My family is the best. This year, the holidays are going to be totally different! We are so blessed to have this healthy baby girl. I am so thankful for Tony, Kaleb and Lilya. I am also thankful for the rest of my family (this includes my inlaws). I feel very lucky to have so much love in my life! I miss those who live far away so much, and think about them all of the time.

2 Month Doctor Visit
We actually had Lilya's 2 month check up on Monday, but since she is officially 2 months today, I thought I'd write about it. Everything looks great. Even though she has been on Prilosec since her first visit, and she was still spitting up quite a bit, she had gained 2 pounds. She now weighs 11 pounds 5 ounces and is 22 1/4 inches long. The doctor has decided to try her on a new formula that has rice in it. We are hoping that this will help her keep her formula down a little better. She has been on it for 2 days now, and she has not been spitting up as much. I am still not able to lay her flat on her back though. It doesn't matter how long it has been since she ate, if I lay her on her back, she brings part of it back up, and seems to get a little choked. I hope this is just something that she will grow out of...it makes bed time a little difficult.
At 2 months, she is definitely showing a personality. She is a bit of a momma's girl, but that could be because I hold her all day. I still have about 1 1/2 months to do this before I have to head back to work, and then it will be Grandma Kelsey's turn to spoil her. She loves her daddy too. As soon as she hears his voice, she smiles and starts to coo. She is starting to look just like him too...I can hardly stand it. I wanted her to look just like me. Watching her grow and change is amazing. We can't wait for all that is to come with her!
